Atlas of congenital cardiac disease par Abbott, Maude E. Publication : [S.l.] Mcgill Queens Univ Pr 2006 . 110 p. , The American Heart Association published Maude Abbott's "Atlas of Congenital Cardiac Disease" in 1936. The Atlas was an important contribution to the understanding of cardiac defects and helped provide the stimulus for rapid advances in the diagnostic, physiologic, and surgical aspects of congenital heart disease over the following decades. These advances have since progressed to such a degree that, given current radiologic imaging and surgical techniques, many of the anomalies illustrated in the Atlas are rarely seen as complete morphologic specimens. This reprinting of the Atlas underlines the importance of Abbott's contribution for the present generation. This reprint includes a short history of Abbott's life and how she came to create the Atlas, including a discussion of the material she used for her 1934 London Exhibit, which served as the basis for the Atlas. The original text and illustrations are enhanced by color prints of fifty-five specimens in the Abbott Collection of the McGill Pathology Museum. Re-publication of the Atlas in 2006 coincides with the 100th anniversary of the the International Academy of Pathology, which Abbott co-founded. 36 cm. Basic electrocardiography normal and abnormal ecg patterns par Luna, Antoni Bays d Publication : [S.l.] Wiley-Blackwell 2007 . 184 p. , Electrocardiography is a simple investigation to perform, but accurate interpretation can be challenging. This book takes a logical and systematic approach to ECG interpretation, beginning with the basics of normal variations and dealing in turn with atrial abnormalities, ventricular enlargement, ventricular conduction defects and ischemic heart disease. Extensively illustrated with ECG tracings that complement the text, this book provides clear and concise explanations of traditional concepts of electrocardiography and combines them with updates on the most recent developments in the field. In 22 clinical cases, Professor Bays de Luna illustrates the principles of the book by integrating electrocardiographic features with clinical findings for a thorough and methodical approach to cardiac disease. Regular self-assessments allow readers to evaluate their understanding of the ECG and reinforce key concepts. This book is an ideal introduction to normal and abnormal ECG patterns. It is particularly valuable for medical students, residents / junior doctors and nurses who wish to broaden their skills in electrocardiograph 23 cm. Bioelectrical signal processing in cardiac and neurological applications / par Sörnmo,, Leif. Publication : . 1 online resource (xiii, 668 pages) : , The analysis of bioelectrical signals continues to receive wide attention in research as well as commercially because novel signal processing techniques have helped to uncover valuable information for improved diagnosis and therapy. This book takes a unique problem-driven approach to biomedical signal processing by considering a wide range of problems in cardiac and neurological applicationsthe two "heavyweight" areas of biomedical signal processing. The interdisciplinary nature of the topic is reflected in how the text interweaves physiological issues with related methodological considerations. Bioelectrical Signal Processing is suitable for a final year undergraduate or graduate course as well as for use as an authoritative reference for practicing engineers, physicians, and researchers. Solutions Manual available online at http://www.textbooks.elsevier.com A problem-driven, interdisciplinary presentation of biomedical signal processing Focus on methods for processing of bioelectrical signals (ECG, EEG, evoked potentials, EMG) Covers both classical and recent signal processing techniques Emphasis on model-based statistical signal processing Comprehensive exercises and illustrations Extensive bibliography Companion web site with project descriptions and signals for download.
