Adaptive filtering : algorithms and practical implementation / par Diniz, Paulo S.R. Publication : [S.l.] : Springer, 2008 . 632 p. ; , This book presents the basic concepts of adaptive signal processing and adaptive filtering in a concise and straightforward manner. The main classes of adaptive filtering algorithms are presented in a unifed framework using clear notations that facilitate actual implementation. The main algorithms are described in tables which are detailed enough to allow the reader to verify the learned concepts. Many examples address problems drawn from actual applications. This book covers the family of LMS and algorithms as well as set-membership, sub-band, blind, IIR adaptive filtering, and more. Several problems are included at the end of chapters and some of these problems address applications. A user-friendly MATLAB package is provided where the reader can easily solve new problems and test all of the algorithms in a fast manner. Additionally, the book provides easy access to working algorithms for practicing engineers. The book has a solutions manual that is available from the publisher for instructors. Another resource for instructors is a set of master transparencies as a MATLAB Package including the MATLAB codes for all the algorithms described in the text which is available from the author. The author also has a webpage for the book. 27 cm. Date : 2008 Disponibilité : Exemplaires disponibles: La bibliothèque des Sciences Exactes et Naturelles (1),

Microwave engineering / par Pozar, David M. Publication : [S.l.] : Wiley, 2004 . 720 p. ; , Focusing on the design of microwave circuits and components, this valuable reference offers professionals and students an introduction to the fundamental concepts necessary for real world design. The author successfully introduces Maxwell's equations, wave propagation, network analysis, and design principles as applied to modern microwave engineering. A considerable amount of material in this book is related to the design of specific microwave circuits and components, for both practical and motivational value. It also presents the analysis and logic behind these designs so that the reader can see and understand the process of applying the fundamental concepts to arrive at useful results. The derivations are well laid out and the majority of each chapter's formulas are displayed in a nice tabular format every few pages. This Third Edition offers expanded coverage with new material on: Noise; Nonlinear effects; RF MEMs; transistor power amplifiers; FET mixers; oscillator phase noise; transistor oscillators and frequency multiplier. 26 cm. Optical switching / par El-Bawab, Tarek S. Publication : [S.l.] : Springer, 2006 . 450 p. ; , Optical Switching is the most comprehensive and up to date reference book on its subject. After three decades of research and development efforts, optical switching has started to be deployed in cutting-edge networking initiatives. The optical devices, optical networks, and telecommunications/data networking communities are in need of a reference book that compiles diverse optical switching research, from device technologies to system and network architectures, into one properly structured volume. This book provides such a service to these communities. The book is structured into three parts. The first part provides the foundation for understanding the potential role of optical switching in communication networks. The second part is focused on optical switching technologies and on devices based upon them. Theories, operation principles, and fabrication techniques are discussed. The third part covers optical-switching fabrics, systems, and networks. Applications of optical switching in communication networks are discussed, involving optical circuit, packet, and burst switching. The chapters are self-contained with minimum overlap. They bring together academic and industrial contributions, analytical and descriptive treatments, and cover theories, experimentation, and practice. The material has been carefully coordinated to form a homogeneous manuscript having a progressive and logical development of ideas and concepts. The book embraces a number of distinctive innovations. Old and new terminologies are investigated, clarified, redefined where necessary, and used consistently throughout the entire volume. The treatment of the subject is original, not only in terms of comprehensive coverage, but also in terms of structure and organization.   24 cm. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing for wireless communications.   Publication : [S.l.] : Springer, 2006 . 308 p. ; , Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing for Wireless Communications is an edited volume with contributions by leading authorities in the subject of OFDM. Its coverage consists of principles, important wireless topics (e.g. Synchronization, channel estimation, etc.) and techniques. Included is information for advancing wireless communication in a multipath environment with an emphasis on implementation of OFDM in base stations. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing for Wireless Communications provides a comprehensive introduction of the theory and practice of OFDM. Chapter 1, by G. Stþber, briefly introduces the history of OFDM or multicarrier modulation and basic concepts of OFDM, Chapter 2, by Y. (G.) Li, presents design of OFDM systems for wireless communications, various impairments caused by wireless channels, and some other types of OFDM related modulation. Chapter 3 to Chapter 6 address different techniques to mitigate the impairments and to improve the performance of OFDM systems. Chapter 3, by J. Cioffi and L. Hoo, focuses on system optimization techniques, including channel partitioning, loading of parallel channels, and optimization through coding. Chapter 4, by S. Wilson and P. ḍling, addresses timing- and frequency-offset estimation in OFDM systems. It also briefly discusses sampling clock offset estimation and correction. Chapter 5, by Y. (G.) Li, deals with pilot aided and decision-directed channel estimation for OFDM systems. Chapter 6, by C. Tellambura and M. Friese, discusses various techniques to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio of OFDM signals. To facilitate the readers, extensive subject indices and references are given at the end of the book. Even though each chapter is written by different experts, symbols and notations in all chapters of the book are consistent. 24 cm. Remote sensing digital image analysis : an introduction / par Richards, John A. Publication : [S.l.] : Springer, 2005 . 439 p. ; , Remote Sensing Digital Image Analysis provides the non-specialist with an introduction to quantitative evaluation of satellite and aircraft derived remotely retrieved data. Each chapter covers the pros and cons of digital remotely sensed data, without detailed mathematical treatment of computer based algorithms, but in a manner conductive to an understanding of their capabilities and limitations. Problems conclude each chapter. This fourth edition has been developed to reflect the changes that have occurred in this area over the past several years. Its focus is on those procedures that seem now to have become part of the set of tools regularly used to perform thematic mapping. As with previous revisions, the fundamental material has been preserved in its original form because of its tutorial value; its style has been revised in places and it has been supplemented if newer aspects have emerged in the time since the third edition appeared. It still meets, however, the needs of the senior student and practitioner. 25 cm. Date : 2005 Disponibilité : Exemplaires disponibles: La bibliothèque des Sciences Exactes et Naturelles (1),
