Basics of nanotechnology / par Rubahn,, H.-G. Publication : Weinheim : Wiley-VCH, 2008 . viii, 226 pages : , "Developed from courses on nanophysics and nanotechnology, this textbook is a surface-bound approach to nanostructures, methods of growth and manipulation, characterization methods with a focus on optical analyzing methods and nanooptics, a discussion of nanoarchitectures and exemplary applications in optics, electronics, quantum computers, molecular nanostructures, biology and soft matter. With its wide range of problems to test the reader's understanding, it is primarily aimed at graduate students with a basic knowledge of solid state physics, but can be equally used as a reference for professionals in physics, chemistry and materials science working on nanosystems, soft matter or biophysical matters."--MONO JACKET. 25 cm. Computational nanoscience applications for molecules, clusters, and solids par Varga, Kálmán, Publication : Cambridge | New York Cambridge University Press 2011 . xii, 431 pages , "Computer simulation is an indispensable research tool in modeling, understanding and predicting nanoscale phenomena. However, the advanced computer codes used by researchers are too complicated for graduate students wanting to understand computer simulations of physical systems. This book gives students the tools to develop their own codes. Describing advanced algorithms, the book is ideal for students in computational physics, quantum mechanics, atomic and molecular physics, and condensed matter theory. It contains a wide variety of practical examples of varying complexity to help readers at all levels of experience. An algorithm library in Fortran 90, available online at www.cambridge.org/9781107001701, implements the advanced computational approaches described in the text to solve physical problems"-- 26 cm. Controlled growth of nanomaterials par Zhang, Li De Publication : [Hackensack] (N. J.) World scientific 2007 . 1 vol. (X-467 p.) , Notes bibliogr. 24 cm Date : 2007 Disponibilité : Exemplaires disponibles: La bibliothèque des sciences de l'ingénieur (1),

Dynamic plasticity / par Cristescu, N. D. Publication : [S.l.] : World Scientific Publishing Company, 2007 . 480 p. ; , This book presents a self-contained and comprehensive look at the field of dynamic plasticity for researchers and graduates in mechanical engineering. Drawing on the author's long career in the field, the book greatly extends material from the 1967 original edition with the addition of fresh research chapters as well as a full introduction to the elementary theory of plasticity. 26 cm. Exotic states in quantum nanostructures   Publication : [S.l.] Kluwer Academic Publishers 2002 . 314 p. , Mesoscopic physics has made great strides in the last few years. It is an area of research that is attractive to many graduate students of theoretical condensed matter physics. The techniques that are needed to understand it go beyond the conventional perturbative approaches that still form the bulk of the graduate lectures that are given to students. Even when the non-perturbative techniques are presented, they often are presented within an abstract context. It is important to have lectures given by experts in the field, which present both theory and experiment in an illuminating and inspiring way, so that the impact of new methodology on novel physics is clear. It is an apt time to have such a volume since the field has reached a level of maturity. The pedagogical nature of the articles and the variety of topics makes it an important resource for newcomers to the field. The topics range from the newly emerging area of quantum computers and quantum information using Josephson junctions to the formal mathematical methods of conformal field theory which are applied to the understanding of Luttinger liquids. Electrons which interact strongly can give rise to non-trivial ground states such as superconductivity, quantum Hall states and magnetism. Both their theory and application are discussed in a pedagogical way for quantum information in mesoscopic superconducting devices, skyrmions and magnetism in two dimensional electron gases, transport in quantum wires, metal-insulator transitions and spin electronics. 24 cm.
