Summary, etc The major goal of this thesis is to follow the trend to further promote the digital wireless communication system with the rise of the demand in term of high data rate and spectral efficiency. To this end, we appoint MIMO-OFDM system as a main focus to study and optimize relying on the system’s components behavior under different scenarios mostly the wavelet packet transforms as a better alternative to the FFT based MIMO-OFDM.<br/> We were interested at first on the optimum BER vs SNR values by designing a MIMO system and applying Alamouti and Golden code while increasing the antennas number from 1 to 2 at the receiver side and also the for different values of the constellation number of the modulation used “QAM”.<br/> As we conclude the performance of the system in term of diversity increased with the addition of antennas, we also worked on another contribution which is replacing traditional FFT in OFDM by the new concept of the mathematical tool namely “the wavelet packet transform”. The system model proposed a leveling problem to the Inter Symbol Interference issue due to the non-use of the cyclic prefix.<br/> Numerical outputs show proven results of our approach and was extracted using 3 different channels model with Alamouti STBC for 2*2 MIMO-OFDM. Based on the BER performance, the proposed combination remains better than FFT one, besides the greater correlation between the constellation points used in our approach (16,32,64) and the behavior of the BER during the simulation.
